Greeting card: Whale

Our rectangular cards are handmade from 100% recycled paper that are embedded with seeds, so they can be planted to to grow flowers or basil and tomato.

Each eco-friendly card has a print of local artist Talita Steyn. She is a multidisciplinary artist who lives on the Garden Route. Her themes are a blend of the unseen world of mysticism, the sacred and inexplicable synchronicities. The “Nautical Tales” range is inspired by her fascination with vintage tattoos which take you on a dreamy voyage where sailor cats, mermaids and dreamboats are a reality.

Let the loving message you write in this card grow into more than just words for the receiver. Whether it’s to say thank you, celebrate a wedding, or congratulate someone, this card will take root in their heart… and their garden!

Rectangular cards measure 140mm x 95mm, folded. Each unit comes with a locally-produced brown paper envelope made from recycled material, and contains planting instructions for the seed paper.

Seed options:

Flower mix: We use a mixture of different seeds depending on what we have in stock. It usually is a mix of some of these seeds: Alyssum, Poppies, Snapdragon, Baby’s Breath, Vygies and Virginian Stocks
